Status: Full Time Position

As our Safety and Training Coordinator, you will directly impact our culture. This role interacts with all team levels to improve our safety, onboarding, and training processes while reporting directly to the company president. In this role, you will assess workplace processes, identify hazards, develop solutions to eliminate those hazards, effectively communicate the solutions to employees, train the team to the new process, and evaluate implementation progress. You will also lead our training program, improving the productivity of our team by identifying developmental needs and necessary training solutions for team member success. You will be part of a team that actively searches, creatively designs, and implements effective methods to educate and enhance organizational performance.

Job Description

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Associate Degree or equivalent work experience is required. OSHA-10 or OSHA-30 Training is required or ability to complete the required training within 90 days of hire. Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task and prioritize workload to meet deadlines. One year of EHS experience within a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred. Experience working with OSHA regulations is very beneficial.

Essential Functions

  1. Leads and works with supervisors and team members to assess workplace hazards and perform accident and near-miss investigations.
  2. Ensures that the workplace complies with all applicable OSHA standards, rules, and regulations through frequent audits.
  3. Conduct/organize production and safety training for employees as required, including first aid, fire safety, emergency response, and relevant equipment.
  4. Demonstrates the correct use of safety equipment and PPE and assesses employee competency on expectations of use.
  5. Leads and works with supervisors and team members to develop, maintain, and train employees on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  6. Manages the organizational training matrix and calendar providing weekly status updates.
  7. Leads safety-related capital and process improvement projects.
  8. Conduct regular meetings with senior management to identify subjects to be addressed or areas needing additional instruction. Prepare subject material and ensure a detailed understanding of training subjects and processes.
